In the winter of 2006 I revisioned and re-organized my gallery space to allow me to hold workshops on a variety of topics related to healing, spirituality and art. In honour of that change I named the space Spirit Space. As a long time drummer, dancer, singer and Reiki practitioner as well as spiritual seeker I am delighted to be able to offer workshops to those of like mind. Sound as Medicine

Gary Diggins & Lisa Hartt

This workshop will concentrate on the principles and protocols of creating therapeutic, sonic rituals. We will incorporate user-friendly instruments as well as the human voice. Each participant will have an opportunity to give and receive sound.

Gary Diggins is Toronto-based musician and founder of Soundwork as Soulwork, a training program that gives participants accessible ways to make intentional, therapeutic, or ritualized sound.

This promises to be an engaging evening of discovering how our bodies respond to impressionistic soundmaking. We will explore several forms of sonic play, ranging from ecstatic expression to contemplative sounding, and how to let those energies be embodies. Bring a drum, a percussion instrument, water, and a willingness to dance your dreams.
